Mission Statement

Seattlites are known to be green. They are often characterized as obsessive recyclers, outdoor enthusiasts, and drivers of hybrids vehicles. We love the farmer's markets, we love the fresh caught seafood, we love hiking on the weekends, and we even bring cloth bags to the grocery store sometimes. We want to be low impact. We think of ourselves as low impact. But we have a long way to go. I am proud of the passion with which Seattlites promote these issues. The idea of this blog is to take that passion and use it to challenge individuals to examine the little habits we have and to take another smaller step towards being zero impact. Colin Beaven writes extensively on his blog and in his book No Impact Man about these issues. But even he will admit that having no impact is virtually impossible. Having less impact? Very possible. But when we strive for these ideals, we get that much closer to achieving them, improving quality of life for everyone along the way.
